How can a naturopath help you with anxiety? That’s a good question, I’m glad you asked!
Firstly, as a naturopath I have a whole dispensary of herbs, supplements and compounding nutrients at the ready to support your nervous system and tone down anxiety symptomatically. But, seeing as I am here to get to the root cause of the issue and to decrease your anxiety long term, I want to sort out the core reasons why your anxiety has gotten out of hand in the first place.
Seeing a naturopath helps you get the best of both worlds: science based & evidence approach PLUS natural medicine without the nasty side effects of some pharmaceuticals. It’s so important to me that we build you up and fix any core issues for a long term solution – we don’t want you relying on a band-aid approaches.
Here are some of the things that can contribute to anxiety that I can help sort out:
1. Pyroluria – A genetic condition affecting 1 in 10 of us, leading to a huge depletion of Zinc and B6, with one of the main symptoms being…. Anxiety. It also leads to overwhelm, sensitivity and depression and it’s life changing when we correct the deficiencies. You can read more about pyroluria here.
2. Gut Bacteria – Certain bacteria in the gut create D-Lactic acid which can amplify your emotions and make you feel triggered, irritable and like you have PMS all month long. Fixing this imbalance of bacteria is a game changer and something I support most of my clients with.
3. Histamine issues – You may have heard of antihistamines, but did you know that histamine is an important neurotransmitter that affects mood, motivation and anxiety? Having levels that are too high or too low affects mental health in a big way, so through testing we are able to find out and correct imbalances.
Mental health isn’t in your head, most of the time there are very real biochemical imbalances causing you to feel anxious. Let me help you work out what is going on and we can correct the imbalance together. You can book in for a free intro consultation here.
