Ever been told your blood test results are normal, Ever been told your blood test results are normal, but you know you aren’t feeling right?

You’re not alone, this has happened to me, to my friends, my family and to almost all my clients.

I’ve become so disillusioned by the medical system lately, they are fantastic for acute life-threatening cases but for optimal health or preventative medicine, they just aren’t it.🙅🏻‍♀️

When GP’s are looking at blood tests, they are going by the lab ranges to check if you are in an active disease state. If you’re not (yet), they say “all normal, nothing wrong with you”.
And even if you are outside those ranges sometimes they say it’s not too bad and they will monitor it, without actually doing anything to support you.

I normally have a lot of tolerance for this but lately it’s been driving me insane! I went with my partner to the Dr the other day (who was actually a really lovely Dr) but when he got the blood test results the Dr said “everything is good, this one thing is high but it isn’t an issue, keep doing what you’re doing”.

We got a copy of the results, and when we got home I went through them with a fine tooth comb and found a lot of things that were out of whack and some pretty serious things that were directly contributing to his symptoms and have long term health consequences if not addressed. (Luckily I created a treatment plan for him and he’s already feeling 10x better)

😤But it made me mad. Like a passionate madness that fuelled me to find a way to make sure this doesn’t keep happening to others and I’ve been working tirelessly to create something really special for you.

⭐️Watch this space as I’ll soon be offering comprehensive blood test interpretation reports to empower you in your health, using optimal naturopathic ranges & with an explanation of what each marker is and what your results mean. Let me know below if this is something that interests you!

Coffee & Anxiety, what’s the link? ☕️🧠
I’m going to break some hearts today with this post, but one of the first things I do when a client tells me they have anxiety is to ask them to stop drinking coffee.
Coffee is so incredibly linked with anxiety due to its ability to raise cortisol (our stress hormone) and put us in the “fight or flight response”.

Coffee also makes us burn through nutrients faster and blocks absorption of certain minerals and vitamins. 😬

It creates a vicious cycle because often people will drink their coffee in the morning for a moment of peace, calm & joy -but unfortunately this is setting you up for a day of stress and anxiety.
Majority of my clients like coffee due to the ritual of it, so I invite you to create a new ritual: make a fancy alternative latte (so many options these days), have a herbal tea, or even something still with caffeine like normal tea or matcha.
Just get coffee out of here, you’ll thank me later! 🙏🏼

🤔The question on everybody’s lips. How the he 🤔The question on everybody’s lips. How the heck do I sort out my hormones? Let’s start with the basics:

1.Address lifestyle factors. 🧘🏻‍♀️
Stress, sleep, exercise, hydration
You’ve heard me say it, you’ve heard your mum say it.. Stress, sleep and hydration affect all parts of your body’s functions. Prioritise sleep girl, work on stress management practises like journaling, yoga/mediation if you’re into that, get out in nature, move your body, listen to some boppin’ beats. 🎶
And drink that water! Aim for 1.5-2L per day and herbal teas count. ☕️

2.Remove endocrine disruptors.
You may have heard along the grape vine that there’s some sneaky baddies hanging out in your skincare products, shampoos and foods -show them the door boo.
Get rid out as much plastic food packaging as you can, say “buh-bye” to plastic cookware and utensils, get a glass water bottle, buy all natural skin products (but beware of greenwashing).
And for the love of god, NEVER put plastic in the microwave -or heat it in any way.

3.Get hormones tested. 🧪
I mean, we’ve got to know what’s actually going on right?
Saliva hormone testing is better than blood testing for accurate hormone results.
You can also do a DUTCH test which is a urine test and is great for showing metabolites of hormones.
The results will show us if you have high or low oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA & cortisol.

4.Take prescribed herbs and supplements. 🌱
Based on the results from the test we’ll know what supplements and herbs to take to create that sweet sweet balance. No matter what anyone says, there is no blanket herb that will “balance” hormones -it’s very individualised. But as well as adjusting the hormone levels, we want to figure out why it’s out of balance in the first place and address that!

5.Check gut bacteria.🦠
I couldn’t even count the amount of times a client has come to me thinking their hormones were whack, when it was actually gut bacteria making them act crazy AF. PMS is definitely real, but if its happening all throughout the month, my bet is that there’s some gut bacteria in on the fun.

☕️Okay, yes this is a trick question. If you ☕️Okay, yes this is a trick question.
If you don’t already know my stance on coffee for people with anxiety & fatigue, then prepare for a small pang of heartbreak…
